​Hendrik Johannes Cruijff (Amsterdam, 25 April 1947 – Barcelona, 24 March, 2016), known as Johan Cruyff, was a former Dutch footballer and coach. He won the Ballon d’Or three times, in 1971, 1973 and 1974 and he was the founder of the football philosophy known as Total Football. He is widely regarded as one of the great players in association football. In 1999, Cruyff was voted European Player of the Century.
After his retirement as a player in 1984, Cruyff became highly successful as manager of Ajax and later FC Barcelona. After his retirement from coaching he initiated the Cruyff Foundation, Cruyff Institute, Cruyff Classics, Cruyff Football and Cruyff Library.

​Ohio North Youth Soccer Association

​Ohio North Youth Soccer, formed in 1974, is a not for profit member of the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and US Youth Soccer, and is officially recognized as the sanctioned youth soccer organization for northern Ohio.  Ohio North has a current membership base of over 45,000 youth players, 6,000 active coaches, 2,300 referees and thousands of volunteers through its network of over 75 affiliate and associate recreational and competitive level member leagues and clubs.

Coaching Education ​

Professional Track
  • The "E" License and "D" License comprise the state levels of the US Soccer Professional Coaching Track.  
  • The "E" License is an 18-hour course and the prerequisite for the "D" License.   
  • The "D" license has been divided into two parts - the Instructional and Performance Phases - which must be separated by at least one season of active coaching (Deliberate Practice).
  • Both "E" and "D" courses require the completion of pre-course assignments and include formal coaching assessments.   
  • The National "D" License continues as the US Soccer prerequisite for coaches seeking to enter the national coaching track (C-B-A levels). Playing ability is not a prerequisite for successful completion of the "E" and "D" courses.  
  • Parent-coaches without a playing background are encouraged to attend the U10/12 Course or one of the NSCAA offerings to improve their soccer knowledge and coaching methods.
